🔧 Mechanic's Notes
- B46/B48 is genuinely stout — most 'issues' are coolant-level creep from plastic fittings, so investigate any drop instead of just topping off.
- Valve cover gasket seep starts around 60–80k; you'll usually smell it before you see a drip.
- Replace the oil-filter-cap o-ring every service — a reused o-ring is the number-one DIY leak on these.
- Brakes and run-flat tires will cost you more than the engine ever will.
