- The B58 is about as tough as modern turbo sixes get — keep oil changes tight and it just runs.
- Watch items are small: VANOS solenoids, and any coolant-level drop (expansion tank / heat-exchanger area) deserves a look, not a top-off.
- Valve cover gasket seep shows up at higher miles — normal aging, not a defect.
- The real budget line is rear tires and brakes; it's a heavy car that hides its speed.
